Technician

Job Summary

To ensure the optimal operation of Sample prep, Fire assay, Wetchemistry and instrumentation sections by adding technical and supervisor support.

Cleaner

Job Description

The cleaner is responsible to ensure that the SGS Randfontein Laboratory offices are kept clean and orderly during the day and a list of supplies required is provided to the Line Manager.

Carry out regular cleaning of the offices, including but not limited to:

* Washing / sweeping floors

* Emptying of dustbins and sort waste accordingly

* Washing of kitchen

* Dusting of office equipment

* Cleaning of desks

* Move all bins outside to be taken away

* Washing and drying of cups

* Ensuring that bathrooms and toilet facilities are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner

Operator

Job Summary

  • Perform the (weighing, fluxing, fusion, cupelling and dissolution of prills) exactly as per relevant Competence Modules set (Weighing in Geochem Fire Assay, Fluxing in Geochem Fire Assay, Fusion, Cupellation, Digestion of Ag and Pd prills)
  • Punctuality at all times.
  • Ensure customer requirements are achieved with regard to the turnaround time commitments. Report daily production figures to Team Leader/Supervisor, and also bona fide explanations for targets not met.
  • Assist in the investigation of any irregularities/non conformances within the Fire Assay process including the Improvement Requests and Client’s Complaints.
  • Follow Team Leaders/Supervisors clear detailed instructions and demonstrate flexibility in executing the duties.

Driver

Job Summary

This position is for our Geochemistry Laboratory situated in Orkney (Vaal River Laboratory).  The incumbent Perform routine analytical techniques related to the established Sample Preparation and Fire Assay procedures.

Job Description

To provide a reliable and courteous transportation service with safety as a top priority.

  • Perform various tasks relating to the transportation of goods.
  • Perform deliveries and/or collections as and when required.
  • Operate and maintain records
  • Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.
  • Ensure cleanliness of company vehicles.

Administrator

Job Summary

To assist the Manager of the Geochem Admin Department to effectively overseeing the Administrative functions of the division as well as maintaining customer communication

General Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
