The successful candidate will support the daily operations of the café by assististing with preparation of food and housekeeping of pause areas.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4
- Qualification in hospitality added advantages
- Business English: Fluent.
- Computer literacy (Basic)

Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with preparation of food and maintain housekeeping
- Prepare food.
- Maintain hygiene standards (personal and work area).
- Deliver food/beverages to meeting rooms and office areas.
- Maintain housekeeping in pause areas.
- Replenish stock as required.
- Maintain good relations with all staff members.
- Manage the cashier’s duties.
- Ensure orders/items are processed accurately.
Assist with quality, health and safety control.
- Adhere to Health, Food & Safety Rules when performing duties.
- Effectively adhere to the cleaning schedule.
- Report Injury on Duty to management immediately.
- Ensure effective reporting of faulty equipment i.e., fridges and freezers
- Assist with deliveries for Bread, Fruit and Veg – verify stock against invoice and order form, practice FIFO (First In, First Out) procedure.
Assist with inventory control
- Functions – all food and drinks issued must be recorded accurately on function booking sheet.
- Cutlery and Crockery register must be recorded for all functions
- Functions – Food and Beverages must be delivered on time to the correct venue
- All food for functions must be garnished and well presented.
- Cleaning of venue must be done after the function/meeting has ended.
