The position reports to Site and Services Manager
Your responsibilities may include:
- Undertake cleaning, lubrication, and preservation of machinery, equipment, tools, workshop, and tool room.
- Remove rust and general cleaning of parts and/or equipment.
- Ports artisan and handymen tools, materials equipment to and from stores, vehicles, workshops, and/or work sites and safekeeping thereof.
- Act and work in an efficient and safety-conscious manner in accordance with safety rules, practices, and requirements.
- Conduct daily/weekly/monthly inspections on buildings and equipment in line with the preventative maintenance schedule.
- Ensures the proper use and care of equipment e.g. ladders and jacks so that they are in good working condition when required
- Receive and collect materials, spares, and tools used in the fabrication and maintenance of equipment and plant.
- Demarcate work areas and perform traffic control.
- Ensure contractor compliance in line with the site rules and procedures
Qualification and Attributes
- Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) or National (vocational) Certificate.
- Tertiary qualification advantageous
- Some experience working on conveyor systems and trade tests
- 3 years or more relevant work-related experience required
