Salary Packages
The compensation for these roles is divided into three levels based on experience and rank:
Post Level Salary Per Annum

Key Requirements
To qualify for these positions, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
- Training: Successful completion of the Correctional Science Learnership or Basic Training.
- Experience:
- CB1-1: No previous experience required.
- CB1-2: Ten (10) years of relevant experience on the CB1-1 level.
- CB1-3: Ten (10) years of relevant experience on the CB1-2 level.
- Core Competencies:
- Computer literacy.
- Firearm competency.
- Strong interpersonal and report-writing skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and the Correctional Service Act.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining safety and order within the facility. Duties include:
- Performing access control at the correctional centre.
- Controlling the movement of inmates both internally and externally.
- Guarding inmates within the centre and at external public institutions.
- Performing physical security inspections and managing the security control room.
- Ensuring the rehabilitation of offenders through humane development and secure detention.
