Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for these positions, applicants must possess the following qualifications and language skills:
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification.
- Fluency in English.
- Fluency in any African Language.
Knowledge and Skills
While the primary requirement is a Grade 12 certificate, the department is looking for candidates who possess the following:
- Computer literacy.
- Basic counseling skills (this will be considered an added advantage).
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for providing essential health services within the workplace and community. Key responsibilities include:
- HTS Services: Providing HIV Testing Services through index tracing at community and workplace levels.
- Prevention Initiatives: Supporting HIV prevention initiatives, specifically targeting pregnant women.
- Screening and Referrals: Conducting screenings and referrals for STI, TB, HCT, and risk reduction counseling.
- Clinical Support: Performing finger prick capillary blood tests for HIV rapid testing after obtaining informed and written consent.
- Reporting: Ensuring all onsite services are documented and reconciled daily.
- Data Capture: Submitting data captured during Outreach Campaigns according to standard operating procedures.
- Health Promotion: Promoting Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) and the use of Lubricant as a form of HIV prevention.
