Jozi Ihlomile Health Educators

Job Purpose And Key Responsibilities
The primary role of a Jozi Ihlomile Health Educator is to conduct door-to-door community outreach and educational campaigns. Candidates will focus on raising awareness around critical public health and social issues, helping vulnerable households access essential services.
- Conduct household visits to educate community members on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB), Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), and chronic illnesses.
- Provide education and awareness regarding substance abuse, nutrition, and gender-based violence (GBV).
- Identify individuals or families in need of assistance and refer them to local clinics, social workers, and health facilities.
- Record all daily field activities accurately and submit weekly or monthly progress reports to the Site Coordinator.
Minimum Appointment Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following baseline criteria set by the City of Johannesburg:
- Grade 12 qualification (NQF Level 4).
- Must be a youth between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
- Basic knowledge of community health practices, HIV/AIDS, TB, and STIs.
- Basic digital literacy, including the ability to send emails, send text messages, and use the internet on electronic devices for data capturing.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and numeric).
- Must be a resident of the specific ward being applied for (proof of residence required).
